Some of our Ultra Low charcoal coloured stock have a unique quality, they have an oil slick type colour at the bottom of the hex in either a red or green hue or a combo of the two. We like the look! It's caused by a rare event we cannot control during the PVD process. The artificial lightning that turns the solid titanium puck into gas sometimes generates an extra flash of hot plasma. The nice oil slick type colour at the bottom of the hex is where that plasma, that extra little bit of titanium has settled. They all vary slightly, some have more colour, some have less colour but they are all very much alike.
We’ve like matched pairs pending the hue in the middle of the hex.
We offer a Charcoal w Red Plasma Variant, and a Charcoal w Green Plasma Variant. Offered should you wish, you can curate your build down to this detail. A small green or magenta dot on the packaging will let you know which variant is inside.

The result of a happy accident. Identical to our Charcoal Ultra Low Profile Bidon Cage Bolts except for the unique plasma coating on one side of the thread.
During coating - Titanium PVD processing, a rare flash of plasma licked one side of a very limited amount of our Charcoal, Ultra Low Profile Bidon Cage Bolts. The plasma looks beautiful, rich and rainbow like.
The conditions that created this event may never happen again. Instead of removing the plasma, we left it on. It poses no danger or a negative attribute to our precision machined bolt, it can be removed if you wish or it will gradually wear off over time.
The plasma is on one side as pictured, like a diagonal line, only part of the thread is coated with plasma.
